How do you go about making such an inventory moving check list then? Should you include each and everything? Well, actually the answer should be yes, but we know how difficult it is to include everything you have on a checklist. So, you can use these ideas we are about to give you. First, include all your electronic items on the checklist. This will at least make a list of the more precious things you have, and which you will not want to be lost under any circumstances. When you have done with the electronic items, you must tackle the clothes next. Making an inventory for the clothes and accessories can be a monstrous task in itself. The best thing is to make different boxes for clothes of different people in your house and then lock them securely. Do the same for accessories like shoes, belts, purses, etc. Kitchen things come next. Once again, follow the separate box technique. Making an inventory checklist for the furniture is quite simple since they are discrete pieces. However, it is better if you delegate the packing of your furniture to the moving company, since they can do it in a much better way. You can do the same with all the remaining sundry items in your home that you need to be moved. One suggestion here is - do not plan to take everything from your old home to your new one. Take only the things that are valuable and which you cannot do without. For all other things, you can plan disposing of them in a garage sale a couple of days before moving. That will also generate some cash for you, and you will be able to buy new ones to complement with your new house. Household moving services will sign on your checklist and retain a copy with themselves when they are shipping. The roughest form of the checklist will only mention how many boxes are being transported, but some meticulous household moving services will also be interested in what they are actually moving in those boxes. It is your responsibility to check off the boxes as they arrive in your new home. If the moving company is assembling your furniture and other belongings in your new home too, then you can check whether there has been any damage to them right away. It is important that you check for damages in front of the moving company, so that you can make any claims if the occasion arises. |
